But before I go...

But before we enjoy a vacation, I just had to make a romper for my sweet nephew who I can't wait to love on!

It's made with seersucker fabric, but the photo looks shiny for some reason.

Vacation

We are taking a much needed vacation for the next 2 1/2 weeks! Maybe a new project will pop into my head...

And it's finished!

This past weekend one of the teachers from a local school asked me to make her daughter something with zebra print and hot pink tulle. I was so excited about the project that I stayed awake Saturday night brainstorming. I had a couple different ideas about how to add the tulle, but I ended up making the ruffle skirt. I was able to sneak in the tulle between the two ruffles.

I must say that it took way longer to make this skirt because I had to take out lots of thread and redo some of it. I had in my head the way it should go, but we all know sometimes things don't work out as planned. So...while I won't get rich making these outfits for people, I am very happy with what I accomplished today. And the next one will take much less time!

Cute Dog Romper

I was trying a new pattern shape with my old method of making a romper. This dog fabric was a remnant, so I used it in case things didn't work out. Well...things did work out. And I really like the romper!

It's a size 1 according to the pattern. But I compared it to an 18 month size I had just made, and they are very similar. The shoulder to crotch is the same length. The size 1 is wider and has straighter legs instead of angled legs. (To compare just scroll down to find an older post with the elephant romper.) It is fully lined, and I did not use snaps. It's easy enough to undo the buttons at the top and slip it down for diaper changes.

It's looking for a home...$20
